This almost makes up for the continuing saga of septic system pain–it’s enough to put a smile on my face, anyway!
Tom DeLay indicted again; money laundering charged
U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay of Texas, forced to step down as House Republican leader last week after he was indicted on a conspiracy charge, was indicted again Monday.
The new charges, brought by a different grand jury than the one that indicted him last week, is based on the same set of campaign-finance transactions, and directed by the same prosecutor, Travis County (Texas) District Attorney Ronnie Earle, a Democrat. It uses a different legal argument to accuse DeLay of money laundering and conspiracy.
If only I didn’t keep hearing a voice in my head say “I could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich” I’d feel even better.
