You probably have very little time to run out and order the latest Glen Hirshberg audio CD.
I can personally guarantee that there are no more than 19 copies left.

Glen Hirshberg and photographer Jonas Yip have collaborated on a new audio CD recording of Glen’s story, “Like a Lily in a Flood,” featuring sleeve art designed by Jonas. Limited run of 20 copies.
I have the previous recording “Flowers in Their Bridles, Hooves in the Air”. It’s an excellent reading of a great story, which was an edition of 75–and there appear to be a few copies left! I’m looking forward to the new one.
Why don’t more authors do this? Of course, I only mean the ones who are good readers, as well as good writers–which is a much smaller subset than you might think. Still, I’d pay handsomely for a CD of Graham Joyce reading Black Dust, for example. I could go on at length with examples, but I’ll spare you.
I wonder, though, if I could talk Rowe into recording some of his Cane County stories. I hear he’s a great reader, and those stories really need to be read in a Kentuck (Kentuckian?) accent. Hell, it doesn’t have to be CDs–it could be a podcast, or something on the Jim Kelly model. Having readings along with the story notes and text would really kick his “virtual collection” up into the geekosphere.
