…I guess you can see how that went.
I made two big discoveries during this past week:
1) Full time parenting of a 20-month old is a lot more tiring than full-time parenting of a 6-month old. Sarah’s been in day care since she was six months old, and this is the first time she’s been with us for 10 consecutive days at home since then. She is a lot more active and interactive now, which means that it takes a lot more work to keep up with her, and keep her happy. I found today’s full day of work extremely restful by comparison.
2) Full time parenting of a 20-month old is a lot more rewarding than full-time parenting of a 6-month old. Along with the additional interactivity comes the fact that you can have a lot more fun with them. While I was exhausted at 7:30 every day when Sarah went to sleep, I totally enjoyed each day. Today’s day at work was remarkably meaningless by comparison to the last week.
My conclusion is that I could totally be the Mr. Mom dad, and stay home with the kids. I’ve told Trish to win a lottery so that I can do that without affecting our family finances.
Anyway, things are back to “normal” now, so I should be able to restart the blogging flood.
