My wife has a number of incredibly impressive qualities. Among other things she is smart, competitive, beautiful, organized, has a great smile, and has both enough good taste and enough insanity to have married me.
I may not mention her sheet awesomeness much–but if so, that’s mostly for your benefit, and not because I don’t recognize it. But let me illustrate an example of it now.
I mentioned back in March of 2006 that we had found out Trish had gained entry to the PhD program of her choice
Now, we have this:
Yes, that’s right, barring some incredible surprise, Trish will complete her defense and qualify for her PhD ten days from now. So yes, completed her PhD, that’s impressive.
I should note, however, that I believe this is also “completed her PhD eight months faster than the previous shortest time in the program”. Or, if you prefer “made an incredibly aggressive schedule for herself, which many people said was crazy and impossible to stick to, and then delivered on it”.
I believe that can be counted as at least double awesome.
I have taken the 14th off work so that I can go to her defense and ask all kinds of hard questions when they ask the audience for comments. 🙂
